Above: Nixon and his friend Jesse - It is lambing season again! We went to the sheep barns today with a group of mothers from church. Nixon and Maddy had quite a bit of fun. They even got to pet a lamb. Maddy went nuts.

Wow. This is so disgusting. Apparently ranch dressing is not the only thing Maddy loves. This is BBQ sauce (which I hate) and Maddy was dipping her fingers in it and licking them.Ugghh!
Don't worry - I'll never share any of the goodies I bake with my kids. They practically swim in the mixing bowl. They even like to eat the flour. At least the first time they tasted shortening was the last time. It's fun for them and usually a pretty big mess at the end!

We have tons of deer in our little neighborhood. We left our back gate open and at one point in the day, there were 5 deer in our back yard. Maddy and Nixon love to watch them. We see them a couple of times a week.

We went snowboarding last weekend and took Nixon and a couple of guys from Chris' Sunday School class that he teaches. We had a blast. Nixon snowboarded with us for 5 1/2 hours with a short lunch break. We was whiny, but not as bad as most kids would have been after that long. He did great. We took him down green runs and even a blue run! Within 5 minutes of getting in the car to drive home, he was out - snoring! We blasted music all the way home and he never woke up until we got there - which was a 2 hour drive. Hopefully he'll be a snowboarding maniac!

Nixon is great at tracing words. He had a lot of fun making Valentine cards for his cousins, aunts, grandmas/pas, etc. Maddy had fun coloring all over paper and herself.
We can get Maddy to eat about anything if she can dip it in Ranch dressing. Pretty good trick, but maybe not so healthy. She goes nuts for it.
We went to Sunriver this past weekend to visit Chris' aunt and uncle and granddaughter, Savannah at their vacation home. They really feel like my aunt and uncle, since I lived with them during my 3rd year of pharmacy school (my 3rd year was in Portland at OHSU). They are awesome. We went snowboarding on Saturday, mostly for the kids - we stayed on the bunny hill all day. Nixon and Savannah did awesome. Nixon went down the entire bunny hill 3 times without Chris helping him get up, start, or stop. We had a blast. We also enjoyed their outdoor hot tub.

Savannah and Nixon
We went on a little nature walk, and Nixon had to wear Savannah's pink boots. We totally forgot his shoes and all he had was his snowboarding boots or these! He didn't care at all since he likes pink (hopefully Chris doesn't read that!)

Today we went swimming and both my little kidlets had mini breakthroughs. At 3 1/2 years Nixon can swim halfway across the kid pool all by himself (he's been taking swimming lessons, of course!). And today was the first time that Maddy was able to wear a life vest and kick her way all around the pool (she's 18 months) without me holding onto her. I was pretty happy with both of them- it makes taking them swimming even more enjoyable!!
